Xiomara Moreno, 54 of Morton, lost her battle with cancer Monday, July 20, 2020 at University Medical Center in Jackson in her sons’ and life partner’s arms. She was born February 4, 1966 in Panama, the youngest of five girls and daughter of Delsiderio Caizamo and Dioselina Menguizama. Xiomara (pronounced Seo-mara) came to the United States in 1985 after marrying a soldier in the US Army. When her marriage didn't work out, she found herself a single mother of two boys at just 22. She did whatever she had to do to care for and raise her boys, often working multiple jobs to make ends meet for her sons. Xiomara was a very loving, caring person, opening her home to anyone and becoming known by many as "Mami". She was the type that would do anything for you, even giving up her last dollar if you needed it. As busy as she always was, she was still the "life of the party". A spontaneous spirit that would put her boys in the car and just go somewhere randomly, Xiomara always loved to travel and visit friends. Caring, kind, loving, and dedicated are just a few of the many words used to describe her. She will no doubt be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her mother, Dioselina Menguizama. Left to cherish her memories are: her two boys, Carlos Moreno (Amanda Thornton) of Miami, FL and Jassani Moreno (Ana Perez-Ramirez) of Morton, MS; her 21 year life partner Raymundo Ruiz of Morton, MS, her father Delsiderio Caizamo, and her four sisters, Anna, Marcella, Gloria and Heraldina, all of who are still in Panama. She leaves a legacy of seven grandchildren: Aaron, Adrian, Jasmine, Emily, Michelle, Genesis and Angel, along with numerous extended family and friends that will miss her terribly. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring and afterward she will be returned to Miami, FL for interment. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Moreno family in their time of need. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
