Willard Earvin "Shorty" Shaw, Sr., a lifelong resident of Saucier, MS, passed away peacefully at his home on October 22, 2023. Born on February 8, 1941, in the same town, he was a man of great character and a friendly spirit who lived a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures. Born and raised in the Lizana Community. He was born on the same property he lived his days out on, a testament to his love for his roots. Shorty was a hardworking man who dedicated over twenty years of his life to Anchor Glass and Gulfport Glass. He also worked at Ingalls Shipyard as a sheet metal fabricator. His dedication to his work was evident in the quality of his craftsmanship and the respect he earned from his colleagues. He was a man of the outdoors, with a particular passion for hunting and fishing. After retirement, he spent his days driving his four-wheeler around the pond, fishing rod in hand. Shorty was a man of faith and fellowship, cherishing the company of his family and church buddies. He was also a connoisseur of good food, always ready to taste test whatever his wife cooked. He had a particular fondness for seafood, especially Dungeness crab, which he enjoyed with great relish. Shorty was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Ann (Stratakos) Shaw; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Carol Shaw; grandchildren, Makayla Daigh Shaw, Caylee Ann Shaw, and Frankie Kowalski, along with his furbabies, Gracie and Jasper. He was preceded in death by his son, Willard Earvine Shaw, Jr., his parents, Javin B and Lillian (Ladner) Shaw, and his siblings, Jeanette Williamson, Bea Ladner, Thelma Saucier, Lavelle Gieger, Loretta Ladner, Howard Shaw, and Clinton Shaw. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Shaw family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
