Whitney Carol Henderson, 37 of Purvis, passed away Wednesday morning at Ashbury Hospice in Hattiesburg. She was born May 11, 1983 in Laurel, the daughter and 5th of 7 children to Jerry Purvis & Jean Ann (Margo) Sones. Whitney lived her life like a shooting star...short and beautiful. She was a family oriented girl from the start, growing up to be a loving, dedicated mother to her children. She worked at a daycare for a number of years, but probably should have opened her own salon. Whitney did lots of hair and make-up for her friends, always making sure hers was done right if she was going to be out. She had a heart for seniors and was always doing whatever she could for them as well. Losing her father and brother was difficult for her, with each taking quite a toll on her life. She was a Christian by faith and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Sumrall. Whitney will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her father, Jerry Purvis, and her brother Jerry Purvis, Jr. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband Morgan and their children: Harlan Truitt, Sophie Grace, Sara Ann and David Blake Henderson, all of Purvis; two sisters: Maria White and Mary Ann Byrd, with brothers David Purvis, Adam Purvis and Gabe Sones, along with numerous extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Coaltown Cemetery in Purvis. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Henderson family during their time of need, asking everyone to keep Morgan and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
