Wesley Green Obituary

Wesley Allen Green, 53 of Gulfport, passed away at his home Thursday, August 20th. Born November 19, 1966 in Eustis, FL, Wesley was the fifth of eight children to Andrew Elton and Elizabeth Francis (Peek) Green. He grew up in Umatilla where fishing and shrimping became favorites of his, along with riding bikes with his brothers. From an early age, Wesley always creative and enjoyed building things. Good with his hands, he went to work at a young age in construction with his uncle, building houses, putting in swimming pools and other projects. Looking for a change, Wesley joined his brother Kenneth in the oil fields of Louisiana for a few years, but returned to construction. He would bounce back and forth a couple of times, just to keep life interesting, but Wesley was the type that had to stay busy. In 2017, Wesley met Carol and they have been inseparable since. He was her charm, lovingly referring to him as her "Renaissance Man". He loved life and lived each day to the fullest. He liked nothing more than to bring smiles and laughter to others, especially children. Wesley was the type that preferred giving, which went right along with his heart of gold. His willingness to help anyone was always there and he gave of himself to those he cared for every day. A loving son, brother, father and fiance, he will be sadly missed by so many. He was preceded by his father Andrew Elton Green and a brother, James Green. Left to cherish his memories are: four children: Christopher and Nicole Anderson, Robert and Leon Smith; his loving mother Betty Peek of Leesburg, FL; his siblings: Kenneth Gregory of Biloxi, Cindy (Robert) Apple and Billy (Sarah) Green, both of Leesburg, David Green of Eustis, and Shane (Billie Jo) and Michael Green, both of Umatilla, FL; with his life-partner and fiance', Carol Jaques of Gulfport. He leaves a legacy of eighteen grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends from Florida to Louisiana. The world lost a beautiful heart and soul, while heaven gained an angel. Wesley will be missed far more than he ever realized. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A memorial service may be held at a later date.
