Vanessa (Cromwell) Pridgett

Vanessa Cromwell Pridgett, 60, passed away on June 07, 2022 at at in Jackson, MS. She was born September 01, 1961 in Las Vegas, NV, the oldest of five and daughter of Nathaniel and Poneva (Jackson) Cromwell. Vanessa grew up in North Las Vegas and loved to sing and dance. Music was her passion throughout life. She attended Las Vegas schools, graduating from Chapparal High School with the Class of 1979. She went to work at the Union Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas where she was for several years. Vanessa loved her family and being around them. She is remembered as a soft-spoken, little ball of fire. She was athletic and played softball for several years in a women's league. Vanessa continued to enjoy music and dancing, and is lovingly remembered as the toughest one in the bunch. She will be forever loved and missed by all whose life she touched. She was preceded her parents, Nathaniel and Poneva Cromwell, her son, Charles Pirdgett, and her uncle, Lester Jackson. Left to cherish her memories are: her daughters Tymeeka Fowler and Ariel Winn, both of Las Vegas; sisters Mary and Juanita Cromwell, with her brothers Nathaniel and Dwayne (Teresa) Cromwell, all of Las Vegas; her aunts, Betty Albert, Odessa Hobbs, Carrie Stevens, Patricia Robeson, and Beatrice Jackson, and her fiance, Melvin "Danny" Thomas. Vanessa leaves a legacy of four grandchildren, Anayia, Kashmere, Matoria, and Neveaa, along with numerous extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
