Terry Daniel Reed

Terry Daniel Reed, 60 of the Lizana community, passed away unexpectedly Monday at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport. Terry was born June 26, 1960 in Opelousas, LA, the third of seven children to Orlo Dan and Joann (Eagle) Reed. Growing up in the Lizana community, Terry went to work with his dad at 8 years old, pulling parts to sell, moving houses and much more. That work ethic stuck with him through the years. After high school, he went to work at Turnbull for a while before going to work for himself, moving, transporting and installing mobile homes of all shapes and sizes. Terry made sure that he could effectively handle every aspect of the job at hand, making sure it was always done right. Because of this approach and his dedication to being the best at what he did through the years, he was the "go-to guy" if someone had a problem. And because of the guy he was...he was always ready and willing to help. Terry is remembered as a loving father with a more than giving heart. A dedicated, hard-working protector and provider for his family, Terry was a "jack of all trades" as they say, with very little that he couldn't do or accomplish. For fun, Terry liked racing 4-wheelers...on ice no less. If he couldn't find a hockey rink to race in, he would race trucks in the mud. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with his family, usually outdoors riding 4-wheelers, boating or camping. Terry was also handy with his grill and loved cooking on it. He made a mean rack of ribs and enjoyed having family and friends over to eat them...so long as you didn't park on his grass. A loving father and trusted friend, Terry will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Dan & Joann Reed and his brother, Jerry Reed. Left to cherish the many fond memories are: his soul-mate and life companion of over 40 years, Tammy; their children, Wesley Dan Reed and Heather (Paul) Bozant, both of Gulfport, and Chase (Lindsey) Homan of Saucier; sisters Betty Collins (Rusty Jackson) of AR, Anita (John) Eichorn of KY and Bonnie Levens of Tupelo, MS, with brothers Randy Reed of Gulfport and Gary Reed of Tupelo. Terry was affectionately known as "T" to his five grandchildren: Cody, Collin, Aiden, Taylor and Connor. He will be missed by all of them, including numerous extended family, countless fellow home movers, racers, neighbors and friends through the years. The family has set funeral services for Sunday afternoon, April 25th at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by a chapel service at 4:00 PM, with Pastor Jeff Wallace officiating. Afterward, Terry will be laid to rest in the Dye Cemetery in Saucier.
