Terah Keaton Obituary

Terah Elizabeth Keaton, 71, of Bogalusa, passed away on March 3, 2024, at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, LA. Terah was born on May 8, 1952, in Bogalusa, LA to her parents Denver and Donna (Carlisle) Keaton. When she was born, Terah's family was told she would never make it past the age of two, and she would also never walk or talk, BUT, she would defy all the odds! Terah completed school through sixth grade and was not far from her seventy-second birthday! She lived a full life of love and laughter, bringing pure joy to everyone she met. In Bogalusa, where she was raised, EVERYONE knew Terah. Everywhere Terah went, someone was going to stop and say "HEY TERAH". She was adored, and every day of her life was cherished by all who knew and loved her. Terah loved cheering for LSU, she loved Mardi Gras, but mostly she loved to just go and do. She was her family's "Darling", as they called her, and she will be forever missed. Terah is preceded in death by her parents, Denver Keaton and Donna (Carlisle) Keaton-Richardson; her maternal grandparents, John and Lizzie Carlisle; her paternal grandparents, Ben and Terah Keaton; and one half-brother. She is survived by many loving cousins, a niece, two nephews, and one half-sister. The family would like to say a special thank you to Terah's caretakers who always loved and cared for her throughout her life, beginning with her MawMaw Lizzie, Aunt Wilena Wascom, Aunt Marie Borde, Cousin Linda Adams, and her special friend Tammy Dearth.
