Steven Ray Stone, 55 and the "go to guy" in and around Saucier, passed away unexpectedly at his home Wednesday. He was born September 18, 1964 in Prescot, Arizona, the son of Arthur Stone & Deanna Fox. Steve spent his early years in the Phoenix area, and found himself in South MS in the mid 80s. He enjoyed playing pool and fixing things...almost anything actually, a trait he carried through his life. Steve's first job was at Captain D's, but that just didn't really satisfy him. He was always good with his hands, making a long career as a carpenter in construction. No matter the need though, Steve was your guy to call on. If he couldn't fix it or help you, he knew someone who could. Plus, you knew he would answer his phone if you called, unless of course you had irked him in some way and you were being "punished". He definitely was a "shirt of his back" kind of guy, willing and eager to help anyone in need. Didn't matter who, didn't matter where, and didn't matter when...Steve would be there. He is remembered as a loving, kind-hearted brother, father and fiance', but he did have his ways about him for sure. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by those whose life he touched. Steve was preceded by his parents, Arthur & Deanna. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving fiancé, Christina Shields; his children, Allen Stone, Ashley (Charles) Davis, Savannah and Nathan Stone; three grandkids that he adored Tyler Stone, Raylen and Kayleigh Davis; his step-mom Lesley; siblings Mark and Gary Stone, Shirley (Mike) Sumrall, along with numerous extended family, friends, neighbors, and a lot of folks Steve has helped along the way. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A memorial service will be set at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Stone family in their time of need, and asks that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
