Stephen Anthony Allen, Jr., 35, of Purvis, MS., passed away January 04, 2024, at Wilkinson County Correctional Facility in Woodville, MS. Stephen was born the youngest of two boys, on October 26, 1988, in Slidell, LA., to his parents Mary (Ferrell) Howard and Stephen Anthony Allen, Sr. Stephen grew up in the Purvis area where he enjoyed playing baseball and football, as well as hanging out with his friends. Stephen worked at McDonald's for a while before becoming a rod buster with Arcadia Rebar for some time. Stephen was so proud of his kids and always looked forward to the time and phone conversations he and his daughter, Lexi, shared. Stephen was given the nickname Monk by his younger brother and it stuck with him over the years. Monk wasn't afraid of anything and would go toe to toe with any challenge no matter how big or how small. Despite the challenges in life he faced, Monk dealt with them the best he could, and through all that came his way, his family loved and stood by his side through it all. Stephen was known to be a jokester, always making someone laugh, a memory his family will hold on to and cherish through the pain of losing him too soon. Stephen is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Nelda (Griffin) Seals; grandfather, Homer Allen; and step-grandmother, Sue Allen. Left to cherish the laughter, his daughter, Alexis Shows; his son, Kalanda Allen; his mother, Mary (Kenneth) Howard of Purvis; his father, Stephen (Darlene) Allen, Sr. of Perkinston; his sister, Brittany Trotter; his brothers, Wyatt Allen, Jonathan Howard, and Chris Hayes; his grandmother Arlene Ferrell; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Stephen's wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Allen family during this time and would ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
