Stanley Lindsay Obituary

Stanley H. Lindsay, 69 of Gulfport, passed away at his home Thursday morning, October 7th, with his family by his side. He was born June 9, 1952, the son of Florian M. "Foley" Lindsay and Betty Shaw Lindsay Murphy. He grew up in South MS, graduating from Harrison Central with the Class of 1971. Stanley worked as an electrician for many years, working for Foley's Electric, which was his father's company. He then became a building inspector, working for the Harrison County Code Office for over 25 years. Stanley is fondly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a family man from the start, working hard over the years to provide for them. If you had ever spoken with him at length, you would have heard something about his family. Stanley had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories about his family. A Christian by faith, he was a member of Northwood Church in Gulfport. He will be sadly missed by all whose life he touched. Stanley was preceded by his father, Foley Lindsay, his mother Betty Murphy, his parents in-law, Paul & Charlotte Fox, Willene & Charlie Wallace and Pete & Betty Shoemaker; one brother, Bert Lindsay; brothers-in-law David Graham and Larry Fox; sisters-in-law Noni Lindsay and Susan Wallace and five grandchildren: Melanie, Lydia, Fiona, Elias and Cameron. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife of fifty years, Elaine; daughters Wendy (Mike) Settle and Carrie (Byron) Horst; his sister Audrey Graham; sisters and brothers in-law Linda (Mike) Remillard, Gary (Angie) Coats, Terry (Sharon) Coats, Lynette Webb and Dotty Fox, with his brother, Eugene (Stacie) Lindsay. Stanley leaves a legacy of six grandchildren: Lainey and Lindsey Lines, Mikey Settle, Jacob and Rebekah Horst and Brenna (Ray) Moulin, with two great-grands, Seth and Ava Moulin; nieces and nephews: Chad (Tiffany) Lindsay, Brian (Michelle) Lindsay, Lacy (Clayton) Cowart, Tracy (Aaron) Plaisance, Jeremy (Aimee) Remillard, Chris Remillard, Crystal (Moises) Herrera, Nicholas Coats, Rachel Inman, Ryan Coats, Brenna (Chris) Johns, Rebecca Webb, Justin Fox and Ginny Fox, along with numerous great nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. Stanley's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A graveside service is set for 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, October 16th, in the old section of Finley Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in his family's plot. The Lindsay family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to: Carlos & Josie Miranda, Floyd, Kay and Stevie Winters, Angela McWhorter, Rita Ladner, Mike Remillard and David at Ladner Drugs of Gulfport.
