Sharlene Marie Taylor, 49 of Picayune, passed away July 23, 2021. She was the middle of four children and daughter of Oliver Manuel Taylor and Mona Lisa Bryant, born February 16, 1973 in New Orleans, LA. She grew up in St. Bernard, singing and dancing from the time she could walk and talk. She did have a bit of a mischievous streak it seems, as she would take her brothers toys and either hide them, or break them. Sharlene was, to say the least, spontaneous. She loved the outdoors but music and dancing were her forte. Early on she went to work in the bakery at Sav-a-Center in Metarie. When her daughter needed some help with her kids, Sharlene moved to South MS to be there for her. She is remembered as a spunky momma's girl. She loved her family and defended them fiercely, but would also go toe-to-toe with them as well. Sharlene loved to dance and sing. If there was karaoke anywhere close by, she could usually be found there having as much fun as anyone. She will surely be missed by all who knew and loved her. Sharlene was preceded by her son, Jonathan Lewis Kalade, which had a profound impact on her life, but she pushed through and did her best to live life to the fullest. Left to cherish her memories are: her daughter Allison of Picayune; her mother, Mona Lisa Bryant and brothers Henry Martinez, Jr. and Zane (Mary) Bryant, all of St. Bernard, with her sister Sharon (Todd) Matherne of Raceland, along with her grandchildren, extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Taylor family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this trying time.
