Ricky Meadows Obituary

Ricky Ly-Darrel Meadows, 60 of Wiggins, passed away Jan. 13th at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, after a prolonged battle with pneumonia. He was born September 14, 1960, the son of R.J. and Delores (Ladner) Meadows. Most people knew him by his CB handle, "Deadeye". He was first and foremost a professional truck driver but was talented in many areas. In his younger days, Ricky worked at MGCCC as a groundskeeper and landscaper. He worked various jobs within the construction field, from building ponds to road construction and building highways. He was, at one point in his life, a member of the electrical union, as well as an employee of the state of Mississippi in the geological department. Ricky also owned and operated RLM Trucking while in South Carolina. He was the hardest working and hardest playing man ever. He was never ashamed of anything he did, whether it was considered good or bad. Some will remember him as a wild individual, but most will remember his generosity, kindness and loving nature. Ricky had a propensity toward perfection on any job he worked. To those of us who knew him best, and there were quite a few, we will remember his laughter and knowing that in him came love and safety. He was a protector, a provider and a true friend that will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. He was proceeded in death by his parents R. J. and Delores Meadows of Wiggins, MS and one brother Alfred Allen Meadows of McHenry, MS. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife of 36 years Karen Marie Ladner Meadows; three children: Richard Ly-Darrell (Jessica) Meadows of Perkinson MS, Garron Moise Meadows of Leaksville, MS, Dr. Angela Inez (Brent) Payne of Starkville MS; his sister Gloria (Ron) Hariel; three nephews: Gary Meadows of Perkinston, MS, Tony Meadows of WY and Jeffery Jetton of CA, with a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and countless friends and fellow truckers through the years. A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon, January 16, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Bond-Harvison Cemetery in Wiggins. The family requests that due to the covid-19 issue, those attending please remain in their vehicles, as some immediate family members are at higher risk. On arrival, we will try to get everyone as close as possible. In lieu of floral arrangements, friends may consider making a donation to offset funeral expenses, since a traditional gathering isn't going to be possible. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Meadows family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
