Richard Lane Wilson, 68 of Saucier, passed away January 02, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. He was born on March 25, 1953, one of six children to Henry and Alma (Jamison) Wilson. He was raised in the Lizanna area and enjoyed the outdoors. Not one to ever complain, Richard was known to be tough. He graduated from Harrison Central High School with the Class of 1970, and shortly after, married Marry Ellen Smith of Gulfport. They made their home in Gulfport initially and would spend the next 50 years together. Over that time they raised five wonderful children, which gave them 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Richard had a strong work ethic and was never out of work. He was employed with the state prison system, where he retired as a Corrections Officer. He is remembered as a caring man who worked hard to provide for his family. In his spare time, Richard loved to fish, was an avid reader and liked to sing, even if it was out of tune. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his father, Henry "Harmon" Wilson, one brother, Steve Wilson, his nephew Montanna Wilson, his granddaughter Alexis Bosarge, and a brother-in-law, James "Rat" Berberette. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife, Mary Ellen, one daughter, Katrina (Aubry) Bosarge of Saucier, and sons Richard Wilson of Baytown, TX, Brad (Vanessa) Wilson of Ozark, AL, Chris Wilson, also of Saucier and Steve (Tiffany) Wilson of Pace, FL; his mother Alma Wilson of Lyman; sisters Rhonda (Walt) Campbell of Lizana and Candy (Mike) Sims of Pass Christian, with brothers Wendell Wilson of TX and Michael (Sandy) Wilson, also of Lyman, and his cousin and best friend Keith Lampkin of Gulfport.
