Naomi Ruth (Baswell) Mcdonald

March 13, 1950 — August 3, 2025

Saucier

Naomi Ruth McDonald, 75 of Saucier, passed away August 03, 2025 in Wiggins, MS. She was born March 13th, 1950 in Grove Hill, AL, the youngest of four children to the late Robert Wayne and Ava Viola (Ellis) Baswell. Ruth, as she was know to most, grew up all over the US, as her father was a travelling mechanic. The family eventually wound up in South MS around 1970, bought some property and set down some roots that became permanent. Ruth was the benefactor of many influences on her life, especially her grandmother Lucille. She was a seamstress and passed along her knowledge and skills to Ruth. She was a skilled seamstress for many years, making all sorts of clothes, crafts, and other items. Many of the decorations displayed in Montanna's restaurant were her handiwork. Many will remember her "floppy eared rabbits" as well, making too many to count through the years. Her items were offered to the public at various locations and craft shops, like The Chicken Coop there in Gulfport. When she wasn't sewing or cooking, she was likely shopping somewhere. Ruth could shop with the best of them and got a lot of practice! Outside that, spending time with her grandchildren was one of her favorite things. She was a family woman and enjoyed all of them being together for meals, holidays, and any other reason she could think of. For all that she was, Ruth will be forever loved and missed by all whose life she touched. She was preceded by her parents: Wayne and Ava Baswell; her loving husband of over 25 years, Mack McDonald; her siblings, brother Sam Baswell and sisters Lucille Burns and Lillian Baswell. Left to cherish her memories are: her children, Penny (Wayne) McBride, Janelle (Joe) Butler, and Jessica (Mark) Stone, all of Saucier; Victoria (Mike) Hardaman of Gulfport, and Ronnie (Lynn) Ladner of Wiggins; with her sister-in-law Lorene Baswell of Slidell, LA. Ruth leaves a legacy of nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, along with numerous extended family, friends, and countless flop-eared rabbits down through the years. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. They will plan a celebration of her life to be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the McDonald family in their time of need and asks that you remember them all in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
