Myrna Ladner Obituary

Ms. Myrna Helen Ladner, 83 of Picayune, passed away Monday morning at Picayune Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 29, 1935, one of six children to Loyd Everett & Bonnie Mae (Mitchell) Tate. She grew up in the Salem community outside Picayune, and attended school at Sellers. After high school, she married Nolan Ladner, and they made their home in Picayune. Myrna attended and graduated from Chris's Beauty College in Gulfport, running her own shop for several years. She was a South MS country girl at heart, loving the outdoor things, including fishing and hunting, as much as anyone, but she was equally comfortable with indoor things as well. Myrna was a great cook and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, embroidery, and most arts and crafts. She attended attended Charity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis, and is described as a friendly and caring person. A loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend, Myrna will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her parents, Loyd & Bonnie Tate, two sisters, Bettye Tate Murphy and Bonnie Tate Necaise, and two brothers, David & L. Denegre Tate. Left to cherish her memories are: her daughter, Cindy (Mike) Witt, and her son, N. Felix Ladner; one sister, Gloria Tate Shanahan; five grandchildren, Felicia Ann (Chris) Roberts, Kenny (Marisa) Ladner, W.R. Lee, II, Kevin (Sandy) Witt, and Matthew J.N. Witt, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors through the years. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday afternoon, May 25, 2019 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, in the sanctuary of Antioch Baptist Church, located at 2000 E. Canal St. in Picayune. The funeral service is set for 3:00, and afterward she will be laid to rest in the Skipper Memorial Cemetery on Salem Road.
