Micheal Ray Busha

Micheal Ray "Mike" Busha, 52 of Purvis, passed away January 21st, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 04, 1970 in Hattiesburg, the fifth of eight children to parents John Henry and Catheryn Alice (Gilbert) Busha. He grew up in the Purvis area on the family farm where he enjoyed all the things a young country boy does. The family grew a garden every year, raised and cared for their animals, and knew the value of a good days work, all of which was passed on to Mike. He attended Purvis schools, and decided early on that he would rather work. So, Mike dropped out with his daddy's approval and went right to work in the shop and logging woods. He was a fast understudy, learning how to work on most anything, from cars and trucks to tractors and logging equipment as well. Eventually, Mike opened his own shop and ran it for many years. He even met his wife Veronica when she brought her truck in for repairs, and they had been together since. Mike is remembered as a wonderful guy in every respect. He had a great sense of humor, a giving heart, and loved his family more than anything. He worked just about every day to provide for them, because that's who he was. As anyone will tell you, Mike was a down-to-earth, giving person that always eager and willing to help anyone at any time. Though he worked a lot, when he had some free time, he enjoyed fishing and putting something on the grill for a gathering of family and friends. Mike was a Christian by faith, attending Pleasant Home Community Church for the past several years. He enjoyed a good laugh more than anything, but always in a fun way, never hurting anyone. Sweet, kind, and gentle are just a few of the words used to describe this man, and he will be forever missed by all whose life he touched. Mike was preceded by his parents, John and Catheryn Busha, and an infant sister, Susan. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife Veronica; his children, John (Courtney) Busha and Evelyn Barrett; his siblings: brothers John Earl, Billy, Paul (Jodie), and Terry (Amanda) Busha, and his sisters, Jeanette (Roy Gene) Smith and Melissa (Ben) Davis. Friends will be recieved for visitation Tuesday, January 24th, 2023 from 5:30 until 9:00 PM, and at 9:00 AM Wednesday morning at Pleasant Home Community Church. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM with Pastor Murphy Eubanks officiating. After the service, Mike will be laid to rest in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Purvis.
