Michael Joseph Aaron Heidelberg, 38 of Vancleave, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at Canon Hospice in Gulfport. He was born November 19, 1982 in Hattiesburg, the baby of four children and son of Michael Fred Heidelberg and Melvaline Denton Stronko. Aaron, or "Air Bob" as his family called him along the way, grew up in the Orange Grove area, enjoying the outdoors, playing football and skateboarding. At 13, he underwent back surgery and was no longer able to play sports. Through his recovery and beyond, Aaron had plenty of challenges in life, doing his best to remain positive and tackle them as best he could along the way. He worked in construction doing floors for quite some time, before a falling accident in 2016 left him paralyzed from the chest down. Even in that, Aaron quickly learned to care for himself in every way he could manage. He is fondly remembered as a loving son and brother who enjoyed music, video games, art and drawing, and of course fishing. He was a huge fan of the LSU Tigers, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints football teams. Aaron remained positive through all that came his way, possessing a "hard drive" for life and never allowing adversity or injury to define him. That drive and determination served as an inspiration to all who truly knew him. Aaron loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews and looked forward to going to the casinos to play the slots. He will be forever loved and missed by all whose life he touched. Left to cherish the many fond memories are: his loving mother, Melvaline (Gene) Stronko of Vancleave and his father, Michael (Harriet) Heidelberg of Moss Point; his three sisters, Michelle Heidelberg (Donnie Pourteau) of Pass Christian, Cynthia (James) Lindsey of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Vanessa (Jeff) Dedeaux, also of Pass Christian. While he didn't have any "children", Aaron leaves his four-pawed son and service minpin, Convict, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A Memorial Service is set for Saturday, October 16, 2021, 2:00 PM at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Everyone who knew and loved him are encouraged to come share in the memories. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Heidelberg family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over this difficult time.
