Melinda Bridges Jones Toliver was born September 23, 1951 in Lambert, MS. On October 7, 2023 she passed from this life and achieved her lifelong goal, entering the gates of Heaven. Melinda grew up in Crowder, Ms. She was especially close to her siblings, being the youngest of 6 children. Melinda was best known in her later life for the time she spent working at Fred's in Marks. She is remembered for her warm personality and love for people. Melinda served as a kind, friendly reminder that the world still has good people.
Melinda is preceded in death by her parents, Dow and Beatrice Bridges; sisters, Joyce Bridges Ellis and Ruth Bridges Gordon; brother, Tuck Bridges; her mother in Law, Louise Jones, and her three brother in laws in which she always considered her brothers her own, William Gordon, Robert "Hot" Pinion, and Carey Ellis. To carry on her memory, she leaves behind her loving daughter, Bridget Ray, and the light of her life, her grandson Jericho Ray, both of Wiggins, MS; two sisters Doris Bridges Horn (Gene) of Clarksville, along with a host of nieces and nephews that will always fondly remember their "Aunt Lindy".
The family would like to thank Brown Ray for his care and compassion during not only her life, but especially in her last few months.
A memorial service will be held at Crowder Assembly of God Church at 11:00 am November 4th.
