Mary Louise Pharis

With deep sorrow we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great (great) grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mary Louise Pharis. She passed away at home with her family by her side on May 3, 2022 at the age of 87 years. Mary's memories and loving example remain with her children Leo (Nita) Pharis, Sandra Pharis, Hazel Dollar, and April Pharis. Her children will continue to pass her example and her strong sense of family to her 12 grandchildren Chris, Haley, Denise, Sondra, Jayme, Jeremy, Jessica, Rob, Myles, Kellye, Shanna, and Nicholas who will instill the same values to her 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Mary is survived by all those above as well as siblings Bill Yates and Dave Yates. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, and her daughter Mary (Jim) Wood. Mary never hesitated to tell others about her limitless faith and friendship with Jesus. She doted on her family and was happiest when surrounded by the warm, strong people she helped to shape. Even though Mary was taken home sooner than we would have liked, she lived a life surrounded by people who adored her. A memorial celebration will be held on May 5, 2022 at 6:30PM at Riverside Baptist Church in Long Beach where Mary has been a dedicated member.
