Marajo Thomason Obituary

Marajo Elizabeth Thomason, just 33 years young, passed away on April 08, 2022 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born on April 28, 1988 in Huntsville, AL, the fourth of six and daughter of Donna Elizabeth (Sims) Thomason. Marajo grew up in Greenwell Springs, LA on the family horse farm. She loved anything and everything horses, but also enjoyed music and dancing. The outdoors type, Marajo also enjoyed playing softball in the recreational leagues, as well as when she was in school. The family moved to Pensacola, FL when she was a young teenager, where she attended Washington High School for a while before opting to get her GED. Marajo moved to Ball, LA and went to work for Sonic. She worked her way up to being the manager, before giving birth to her first child, Olivia. After that, she decided to stay home and raise her children. Marajo was the entrepreneurial type, and was developing an idea she had to serve grieving families with mementos of their loved ones. She is remembered as a beautiful, vibrant, and somewhat self-determined young lady. She was always "in motion" doing something, rarely ever sitting still for very long. When she had nothing else to do, Marajo enjoyed ballroom dancing, and living next door to a studio made it convenient for her. She would go two or three days every week and had become pretty accomplished at it, helping teach students and was beginning to get into competitions as well. A loving daughter and mother to her children, she will be forever missed by all whose life she touched. Marajo was preceded by her infant sister and namesake of her daughter, Olivia Rose Thomason; her maternal grandparents, Donald and Altha Sims, and her uncle, Alan Sims. Left to cherish her memories are: her three children: Olivia Rose Elizabeth, Malakai Miles, and Lucille Aunika, all of Pensacola; her siblings, sisters Marcella Thomason of Biloxi, Tiffany Thomason of LA, Leigh Ann Thomason, also of Pensacola, and her brother Christian Thomason of Alexandria, LA. Marajo also leaves a host of extended family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Marajo will be returned to Pensacola, FL for interment to be closer to her children and family. The family has scheduled a graveside service for Monday, May 2nd, 3:00 PM at Bayview Memorial Park, located at 3351 Scenic Hwy 90E. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Thomason family in their time of need and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
