Malcom Douglas Courtney, age 85, passed away on April 21, 2023 in Lumberton, MS. He was born in Lumberton, MS on December 11, 1937 to the late Ola "Peanut" Courtney and Leema Lou Courtney. Malcom was a strong-minded man who loved the Lord. He had a dry sense of humor and was known for his simplicity and independence. He enjoyed gardening and cooking for his family and friends and was considered by himself to be a great cook. Malcom was very family-oriented and loved his family deeply. He was also very generous and gave to charities. Although he had a reputation of being tough and hard, he was very kind and loving at the same time. Those who knew him said that to know him was to love him. Malcom will be missed dearly. Welcoming Malcom into Heaven are his parents, Peanut and Leema Courtney; one sister Tommie Lou Ingram; and his brother-in-law, Sammy Reesor. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Theresa (Thomas) Brown, Bradley (Deborah) Courtney, Lori Grant, Nathan (Ann) Courtney, and Nicole (Chris) Link; siblings, Dolores (Robert) Carter, Elaine Reesor, and Herbert Courtney; and one brother-in-law, Marvin Ingram. Also left to cherish his memories are his thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
