Lucian "Red" Eugene Dedeaux, 81, of the Lizana and Delisle Communities, passed away on September 08, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Red, as everyone knew him, was born one of thirteen children on May 06, 1942, in Lizana, to his parents Earnest and Dorothy Dedeaux. Red was well known and loved in the Lizana and Delisle communities, in fact, he was responsible for helping secure the Lizana Fire Department their first fire engine. Baseball was something he had a deep love for and was sure to share that love with the community by hosting fundraising tournaments throughout the years for numerous different benefits. Red enjoyed the outdoors, and even more so, he loved sharing his love for hunting, fishing, and trapping wild game with his grandchildren. Using resources, the land provided, or living off the land as some would say, was something he made sure to pass on to his children and grandchildren. He loved to garden and was always sure to have fresh vegetables for the dinner table. Red was known for his superb carpentry skills, as he could build and "MacGyver" anything. His daughter Chelsa will forever cherish the knowledge her daddy passed on to her that is now helping her through the seasons of life today. Red, Daddy, or Papa as he was often referred to, will be remembered as a loving man who always gave and made sure to let the ones closest to him know just how proud he was of them. Red is preceded in death by his wife of over forty years, Marilyn (Cuevas) Dedeaux; his parents Earnest and Dorothy Dedeaux; one son, Richie Dedeaux; one daughter, Dwaynette Washington; one grandson Collin James; and his mother-in-law, Luzenia Cuevas. Left to cherish his memory, are his four daughters, Chelsa (Paul) Rivers of Saucier, MS; Denise, Lashay, Fairren, and Remelda Dedeaux; his beloved and very spoiled grandchildren, Bricen, PFC Dalyn, Eli, and Desilyn Rivers, Shaianne, Zayne, Na'iye, Sophie, and Colton Dedeaux; as well as numerous extended family, friends, nieces, and nephews. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Dedeaux family during this difficult time and would ask that you remember them all in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
