Lorraine Grant-Perry Obituary

Mrs. Lorraine Voncile Grant Perry, 67 of Panama City, FL and recently Perkinston, MS, passed away peacefully at Gulfport Memorial on October 4, 2021. Lorraine was born February 25, 1954, the oldest of three children, in Jacksonville, FL to Clarence and Opal (Braswell) Dukes.  She would grow up in Panama City Beach, FL and live there until 2019, when she and her husband, Glen, moved to Perkinston, MS to be closer to children and grandchildren.  In 1973, Lorraine graduated from Bay High School, there in Panama City, and shortly after graduation would marry young to start a family, raising three beautiful children.  She worked at Sears for a while, as well as for a brush company for many years until she ventured out on her own, starting her own business, Custom Tailoring.  A very popular business, for thirty nine years, Lorraine serviced Tyndall Air Force Base, the Bay County Sheriffs Department, and numerous motor cyclist clubs with her wonderful seamstress skills. Lorraine loved to bake and entertain her family and friends, usually with game nights around the table. On June 30, 2000, Lorraine would marry the love of her life, Glen, or Dixon as she loved to call him, and gain five wonderful bonus children.  Eight children later, Lorraine would find her greatest love, her grand babies.  She cherished and loved her grands and great grands immensely, and loved hearing them say Nuna! Lorraine and Glen "Dixon" loved to travel and over the short amount of time they had, shared many laughs and a lot of love. Lorraine had a kind spirit, the kind that was never judgmental or cross with anyone she met.  Her sweet smile and loving heart will be missed deeply by her husband and family. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Opal (Braswell) Dukes; an infant brother; and one grandson Kraig.  Left to cherish Lorraine's memory, her loving husband of twenty one years, Glen "Dixon" Perry of Perkinston, MS; her sister Sherry Cain of Panama City, FL; her daughter Tina Guyton of Panama City, FL; her sons Allen and Wesley Grant both of Panama City, FL; her bonus daughters Jennifer Harris and Melissa Coffer both of Fort Worth, TX; Teresa (David) King of Houma, LA and Ginger Jenkins of San Antonio, TX; one bonus son Chris (Jodie) Perry of Bossier City, LA; and her closest friends May (Pete) Vela of Perkinston, MS, Carletta (Jessie) Belflower of Dothen, AL, Mary Vickers and Chathy Baker both of Panama City, FL, and Kathy Vice of Alabama. Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of fourteen grand children and three great grand children. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
