Loretta Simoneaux Obituary

Loretta Ann Simoneaux, 75 of McComb, passed away on August 09, 2022 at Southwest Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 15, 1947 in Exeter, CA, the only daughter to Orval Delvin and Mary Louise (Johnson) Frye. She grew up in California on a small family farm for the most part. She loved the outdoors and farm life was just fine with her. Loretta attended school there in California, and took some cosmetology courses while there. After moving to New Orleans, Loretta completed her classes and became a licensed cosmetologist. She would spend the next forty-plus years in the field, enjoying every minute of it. From working in shops, to owning her own for a time, and even teaching cosmetology classes along the way, Loretta did some of it all. She finally retired in 1995 and spent lots more time sewing, doing crafts, became more active in her church, and being with her family. Loretta enjoyed shopping and loved to cook, with desserts being her specialty area. She was well known for her cheesecake, a Hummingbird cake, and chocolate cream pies, which everyone counted on during the holidays. A devout Christian by faith, she spent many years at Pace Assembly of God while living in Florida. Loretta attended faithfully, loved singing in the choir, and was a prayer warrior for her family and others. She is remembered as a loving mother who always persevered, mainly due to her deep faith in the Lord. Loretta was blessed with wisdom, and always did her best for those closest to and around her. She will be sadly missed by all whose life she touched. She was preceded by her parents, Orval and Mary Louise Frye, her step-father Nicholas Farquharson, and her son, Adam Simoneaux. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband, Sidney Simoneaux; her daughters, Lerrae (Edward) Peyregne of Nashville, TN, and Mechell Simoneaux of McComb. She leaves a legacy of three grandchildren: Carling (Travis) McDonald, Chris Clark, and Casie (Wes) Ireland, four great-grands: Kaitlyn, Ameilia, Luke, and Mackenzie, along with many extended family, friends, and untold numbers of customers and students through the years. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
