Lela was born and raised in the Pistol Ridge community where she graduated from Forrest County Agriculture High School. Lela got married to Leonard Turan when she was 18 years old and they would go on to have five lovely children and 65 wonderful years of marriage together. Lela, the matriarch of her family, was the glue that held everyone together. When Lela had spare time, she loved to spend it in her garden. She loved to travel, shop, and host cookouts for her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Lela always had a stock of Reese's Cups on hand when the kids would visit, and because of that she became known as Reese Cup Maw Maw. Mrs. Turan was a great mother, grandmother and friend to many; she will be lovingly remembered.
Lela is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Leonard Turan; parents, Clayton and Myrlie Landrum; and siblings, Hershel Landrum, Nadis Landrum, Hulon "Teak" Landrum, Vadis Daughdrill, Starlin "Cowboy" Landrum, and Verlie Thames.
