Lawrence L Greenwood passed away April 12th, 2021 at age 89 in Saucier, Mississippi surrounded by his loving and caring family. He was born in Xenia, IL to Bernard and Opal Greenwood on January 16th, 1932. Lawrence retired from the US Navy as a SWC Petty Officer in which he served two tours in Vietnam. He met his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth L. Greenwood while they both were serving their country, and together they had two children, Debra L Shaw and Larry L. Greenwood. Lawrence Greenwood was an avid gardener and hobbyist who loved to build and create things. He could always be found in his garage woodworking or enjoying watching birds and documenting them on his patio. He will be remembered as a proud father, devoted grandfather and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, children, their spouses, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As well as his two brothers and two sisters. A special thanks to Southern Care Hospice Services for their caring staff. Funeral Services will be held at the Biloxi VA at 12:30 Monday, April 19, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent in Lawrence’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
