Katheryne Morgan Obituary

Katheryne Jean Morgan, 48, passed away on May 28, 2022 at 5:21 AM at Merit Health Biloxi in Biloxi, MS. Katheryne was born on September 17, 1973 in Gautier, the youngest of three children to Edwin Raymond and Patricia K (Doan) Stach. She grew up in Carriere, where she enjoyed riding her bike, playing with her dolls, and dressing up like her older sister. Her favorite color was purple, which may have been why she loved Mardi Gras so much. Kat, as she was affectionately known, also loved music, especially Elvis and the 80’s rock music. She also loved to dance and was a member of a “troop” of 15 or more girls, dancing at football games, parades, and other events. She attended a few school districts, including Pearl River Central, Hattiesburg, Columbus, and Starkville. After her educational pursuits, she hung around the house and helped take care of things while her mother went back to school to get her RN. She met Jonathan in the early 90s, and the rest as they say, is history. They were married a couple of years later and made their home in Hattiesburg. Katheryne was a career mother and housewife, the CEO of the Morgan household. She was good at what she did and ran a pretty tight ship. Her house was always, always clean and neat, plus there was never a shortage of something to eat. A energetic and outgoing woman, she was not one that needed material things to be happy. No, Katheryne was happiest when her family was. She was a proud mother, bragging on every little thing her kids did, no matter how trivial it may seem to others. There was little that she wanted for herself, but oh how she enjoyed going to Crusin’ the Coast, and the Harbor Lights festival every year. Katheryne was the quiet type, not wanting to be the center of attention. She loved her family and did her best to nurture and take care of them through the years. There were no secrets between her and her sister, and her children could come to her with anything at all. A selfless, devoted wife, mother, and a trusted friend, she will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her parents, Edwin and Patricia Stach. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband of over 31 years, Jonathan Morgan; their children, James (Lavonna) Morgan of Biloxi, Wanda (Branden) Strong of Carthage, TN, Jonathan Morgan of Gulfport, and Edward Morgan of Pass Christian; her two siblings, Christine and Jonathan Stach, both of Bay St. Louis. She leaves a legacy of three grandchildren: Oliver, Cadence, and Marilyn Morgan, all of Biloxi, along with numerous extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. The family celebrated her life Monday, May 30th, since some of her family have to travel back home soon. Another celebration of her life will be held at a later date, to allow friends to come reminisce with the family.
