Joyce Anderson Obituary

Joyce Rita Anderson, 73 and originally of Luling, LA, ran into the arms of Jesus Thursday evening from Dixie White House in Pass Christian. She was born November 4, 1946 in Houma, LA, the middle of 4 children to John Francis and Marie Louise (Delaune) Martinez. She grew up in the heart of Cajun country around Houma, in a home where cajun French and Spanish were the primary languages. After graduating high school, Joyce married at 18 and lived on the river in Luling, though she did not like the water. She had her struggles through life in dealing with medical issues and more, but her faith, strength and determination got her through. Joyce loved and cared for her four children and family. She loved to read, especially her Bible. Remembered as a loving mother and good friend to many, everyone who knew her cared deeply for her. We are all comforted that she is resting peacefully in heaven today. She will no doubt be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life she touched. Joyce was preceded by her parents, John F. & Marie Louise Martinez, her daughter Kelly Hebert and her three siblings, sister JoAnne Brouillete, her twin brother John F. Martinez, II, and her brother Chris. Left to cherish her memories are: daughters Kim (Chett) Harrison of Gulfport and Kitty Hebert of Ponchatoula, and her son Rene (Jennifer) Hebert of Marrero. She leaves a legacy of four grandchildren: Presley and Jessica Harrison, and Diane and Kayla Vegas, with five great-grands and numerous extended family, friends through the years. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. She will be returned to Louisiana for interment and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Blanks and nurse Paulette Dawkins for their excellent care and treatment of their mom through these past few years. The staffs at Dixie White House and Palladium Hospice are also thanked for their loving care.
