Joy Wilhelm Obituary

Joy Lynn (Wilt) Wilhelm, 67, of Lucedale, MS., passed peacefully late Saturday, May 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Joy was born June 14, 1955, to her parents Paul and Faye Ann (Gute) Wilt, in Michigan. Before the age of 5, Joy was taught to sew by her grandmother and even made her own clothes throughout her childhood. Joy would go on to become an extraordinarily talented expert seamstress, interior design fabricator, and upholstery technician. Her work was displayed in several prestigious locations, such as the White House, the Westing House Mansion, the Quayle summer home, and several Palaces of Saudi Arabian Sheiks and Princes. Joy's craftsmanship was unsurpassed, and her attention to detail earned her work several publishings in prominent interior design magazines over the fifty years that she worked in her trade.  Regardless of her busy work life, she always made time for her family and friends, especially her best friend, Linda Morgan. Joy was always in motion and when not hard at work, she enjoyed fishing, reading, making dolls, collecting toys, gardening, and cooking for her family and friends. Her jokes, hugs, and sage advice are already sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Joy was the embodiment of her name and she truly brought joy, comfort, and laughter to all around her.  Joy was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister Susan and brother Carl. Left to cherish her memory and the joy she brought; her loving husband, Glynn L. Wilhelm; her daughters Jennifer Noland and Nina Noland; her stepsons, Andrew Wilhelm, and Scott Wilhelm; her grandchildren, Seth, Caryn, Donovon, Makayla, Zachary, Emilie, Reese, Isla, Derek, Isabella, and Korey; and she was blessed with one great-granddaughter, Danica.  Joy leaves a legacy of extended family and friends whom she loved and treated as her own.  The family asks that you would consider making memorial donations in Joy's honor to any reputable cancer research entity that strives to find a cure for this horrible disease that is a thief to so many.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Wilhelm family during this difficult time and would ask that you remember them all in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
