John Manuel Hernandez, Jr.

John Manuel Hernandez, Jr., 42 of Gulfport and from Pasadena, TX, passed away Tuesday morning, July 28, 2020. John was born December 5, 1977 in Houston, TX, one of eight children and the only son to John Manuel Hernandez, Sr. and Mary Ann Valencia. Those closest to him knew him as "Chacho" and he became a pipe fitter / welder by trade. He enjoyed the beach and loved to fish as well. Chacho was a "one of a kind" person, someone who was well loved and also loved his family and close friends as well. He was firm in his beliefs and would help you defend yours against all odds, the type that always had your back, no matter what you faced. He enjoyed grilling out and you never had to wonder if he was in the area. All you needed to do was listen for the music with lots of bass. Chacho did have his struggles, but the love he had for everyone always showed through. Though his life was brief, be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who truly knew him. He was preceded by his father, John Manuel Hernandez, Sr. and his sister, Angelica Marie Valencia. Left to cherish his memories are: his wife Martha Alicia Juarez-Hernandez; his son Jonathan Andrew Hernandez; his sisters: Julia Valencia (Stephen Bruley), Lori Ann Hernandez, Patricia (Raul) Lopez, Mary Ann (Fernando) Frias, Nelly Valencia and Marisa Valencia; his mother Mary Ann Valencia, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He leaves a legacy of five grandchildren, which was his world, with many friends along the way.
