Jeffrey Allen Edwards

Jeffrey Allen Edwards, 65 of Louisville, passed away Monday at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Born November 8, 1955 in Ackerman, Allen was the 3rd of five boys to James Gerald and Dorothy Lou (Box) Edwards, Sr. He grew up in Ackerman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and most everything outdoors, as well as music. He loved the rock music from the 60s and 70s, always listening to it over the years. Allen became a welder, working for many years in the industry. He moved to Louisville as a young man, and with the exception of a brief time on the Gulf Coast, spent his entire life in the area. He is remembered as an easy-going guy that enjoyed the "country life" and his classic rock music. The tag on his car read "Music is Life" and one of his favorite quotes was "Rock in Peace". He had a green thumb of sorts and enjoyed his gardening and plants, with several around his home that included a pineapple plant among many others. Allen had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and did his best to get those around him to as well. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, James G. & Dorothy Edwards, Sr., one brother, Cliff Edwards, and his wife, Dianne Edwards. Left to cherish his memories are: his three children, daughters Misty Edwards of Louisville and Holly (Ryan) Adams of Little Rock, AR; one son, Jeff Edwards of Philadelphia, MS, and three brothers, Jimmy Edwards and Glen Murphy, both of Louisville, and Danny Murphy of Eupora. Allen leaves a legacy of 10 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and lots of friends and neighbors through the years. His final wishes were to be cremated which his family has honored, with interment planned at Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery beside his brother at a later date this summer.
