Janet Broome Obituary

Janet W. Broome passed away peacefully in her home, on March 10, 2024, in Lumberton, MS. Born on August 11, 1951, in Hattiesburg, MS, Janet's life was marked by her fierce independence and strength. She always found joy in the outdoors, mountains, and tending to her garden. Her hands, skilled and gentle, created warmth and comfort in the form of crocheted blankets, each stitch a testament to her love for her family. Her home was a haven for her “furbaby,” a place where cat toys and treats were abundant, and the bond between them unbreakable. Janet's generosity was known by all. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she lived it out by praying for others and performing acts of kindness that touched many lives. Each Christmas, she made it her mission to fulfill the wishes of the less fortunate, ensuring that the spirit of giving was alive and well. She sang with a voice that could only be described as heartfelt and played the piano with a mastery that could command any room. Janet's love for Mexican cuisine was matched only by her love for her family. The times she cherished most were those spent surrounded by her loved ones. Her family will cherish every memory and miss her deeply. Janet is preceded by her husband, James Broome; grandson, John Michael Green; parents, Geraldine and John E. Williams. She is survived by her children, Robert (Tina) Broome, Jacqueline (Stacy) Collins, Stephanie (Joshua) Reaves, Michelle (Allen) Clark; grandchildren, Shane Arthur, Cassidi Hankins, Cody Clark, Dakota Bush, Toni Clark, Brandon Clark, Rustin Broome, Courtney Braswell, Colby Broome, Ayden Reaves, Oliver Collins, Dalton Clark, Dylan Reaves, and Danica Clark; great grandchildren, Zayden Clark, Collin Hankins, Brenton Hankins, Lucas Dyse, and Ezra Arthur; sister, Linda (David) Floyd; nephew, Paul Floyd; and great niece, Maeleigh Floyd. Visitation will be held at Trinity Lumberton 890 E. Main Ave, Lumberton, MS on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 12:00PM - 1:00PM with Funeral services to follow.
