James Michael Bourque Sr passed away on April 14th at the age of 71, he was born in Lafayette, La, on January 21, 1950, and was a native of Gulfport, MS. He was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and a preacher. He was loved and respected by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Curly and Missy May Bourque; his brothers, JC Bourque, John Earl Bourque Sr and Jeffery Martin Bourque; his sister, Renee Waller and his son, James Michael Bourque Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, best friend and best girl, Sheila Ray Bourque; his daughter, Tracy Lynn Bourque (Gene Riley); his son, Ray Joseph Bourque (Daphne Bourque); his grandchildren, Ashley Bourque (Nap), Rebekah Bourque, Megan Brooks (Tyler), Troy Brooks Jr, Courtney Fields (Tracy, aka Slim), Kyle Bourque, Brieanna Bourque; great grandchildren, Lily Rose, Leonidas, Athena, Michael, Michaela, JJ, Liam, and one on the way, baby girl Sirean along with numerous extended family and friends. James (aka) Brother Mike was a carpenter and a holiness preacher, who was thoughtful, respectful, caring, compassionate, had a positive attitude and never judged others. He always did his very best to make everyone he met laugh and has helped so many people. He always got loud when God got a hold of him in church and he would say “I'm not mad, I'm happy” while putting his hand to his ear. He was married to his loving wife and best friend for 54 years, together for 60. What they shared was truly something short of amazing. He wouldn't ever ask for anything but would give the shirt off his back. He was the greatest man that most of us has ever known. He wouldn't want us to mourn him, but to think of all the good times and laugh. He always said when he leaves this earth, he will have his new body and get to meet God of whom he has preached of all of these years. He would want everyone to love each other and hold the ones that we love close and cherish each other and not take anyone or anything for granted, because tomorrow isn't promised. He will truly be missed. His Memorial is being held at 4pm on April 24, 2021 at his church, 13013 Three Rivers Rd Gulfport, MS. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to be entrusted with his care and asks that you keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
