Ivan Lee White, 72, passed away in Gulfport, Mississippi on November 3, 2021. Mr. White was born on July 28, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Ivan was a proud Texan, in his youth he spent time on a turkey farm that was owned by his grandparents. While living in Texas he would also learn to ride and break horses for a little extra spending money as a teen. His love of horses stayed with him throughout his life, riding was a skill he passed on to his youngest daughter and two of his grandsons.
Ivan was a hard worker that learned how to skillfully lay brick from his stepfather Gene Darr. He used those skills later in life to make a career as a Brick Mason for over forty years. He passed this knowledge onto his son Ivan Jr, and a few of his nephews, creating skilled masons in the family for generations to come. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool, darts, and having cookouts with his friends and family. Mr. White was a dedicated father and friend that will be missed by all his life has touched.
Mr. White is survived by his son, Ivan Lee White Jr. of Saucier, MS; daughters Felicia (Joseph) Arnold of Camarillo, CA; Amanda (Curtis) Herold of Gulfport sisters, Nita (Melvin) Wilson, and Rita Matula; brother, Steve White; grandchildren, Courtney Arnold, Brice Arnold, Savanah (Ryan) Leeigh, Trysten White, and Byron Bordelon; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Cate and Peyton Cate. Ivan is also survived by his best friends that he also considered his family Steve and Melissa Porter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. White is preceded in death by his parents, Leta (Gene) Darr, one brother, Johnny White and his biological father Orville Lee White.
A visitation will be at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry on November 20, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 with a Memorial service at 11:30.
