Gilda Sigona Contardo

Gilda Contardo, age 91, passed away on September 5, 2021 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Gilda was born on September 16, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Andrew and Lilly Sigona.

Gilda grew up in Brooklyn, New York with her loving parents and four sisters. Gida had a twin sister named Rose and they were two beautiful woman that had an affinity for fashion and loved to shop at Macy’s department store. The two sisters would call each other in the morning to coordinate their makeup and attire. Gilda loved her sisters and her family very dearly they spent a lot of time visiting their family’s country home at Cozy Lake in New York. Mrs. Contardo loved to socialize and entertain, she was the best Italian cook and Mother any family could desire.

Mrs. Contardo is preceded on death by her loving husband, Dominic Contardo and sisters, Rose and Mary. Gilda is survived by her daughter; Linda (James) Byrne of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Jenifer (Robert) Pace of Smith Town, Long Island and Stefanie (Anthony) Di Tore of Smith Town, Long Island; sister, Elanor; great-grandchildren, Dom, Julia, and Elana.
