Gerald Berchman Wallis, Jr., 58, of Perkinston, MS., passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, on August 4, 2025. Gerald was born on May 15, 1967, in North Carolina, to his parents, Gerald Berchman and Johnnie Mae (Gambino) Wallis Sr. From a young age, Gerald developed a reputation as a protector and provider. At the ripe age of eight, Gerald had two jobs, pumping gas at the local station and a mail route, both aiding in financial needs at home. He would eventually join the United States Marine Corps, where Gerald proudly served his country for six years. Earning several skills, he was most proud of becoming a marksman. After serving his country, Gerald would later settle in the security world, working most recently for the Beau Rivage as the security night manager for seventeen years. Gerald was a man who loved his family and was always eager to give the shirt off his back if it meant helping someone in need. He was a jokester; with every opportunity given, Gerald was responding with a smart remark or joke to make light of any situation. And of course, he thought he was the funniest person in the world, one that would be immensely missed by his family and friends, whom he loved very much. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Johnnie Wallis, Sr. Left to cherish his quick wit and kind heart are his three daughters, Taylor Storm Wallis, Kayla Marie Hensley, and Katelynn Ellene Hensley; and two grandsons, Nathaniel "Nate" Ethan Wallis and Michael Nicholas "Zane" Orwig. Services for Gerald will be held at a later date, provided by his family. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Wallis family during this time and would ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
