Fred Edward Duprey AKA: Blue Goose or Flounder Rounder

Ed Duprey Jr of Waveland, MS Passed away on Tuesday Oct 20, 2020 at the age of 73 surrounded by his family. Ed retired Aug 2015 from KBR at DuPont. He began working at the plant in 70’s as the plant was being erected.    Ed was a Millwright/Pipefitter by trade.  He earned the name Flounder Rounder from Co-workers. He would bring pictures of his catch and bring an ice chest full of freshly cleaned Flounders and give them away.  He was an avid hunter with the nickname Blue Goose.  His favorite hobby was fishing only going for flounder and Mullet. There wasn’t a Flounder that he couldn’t catch.  He would often give his cleaned flounders away to family and friends.  Ed was often seen outside mowing his yard. He wanted it to be just perfect and he did just that. Ed was a proud Saints fan enjoyed watching with the family, he also loved his MS football teams. He was preceded in death by his Father Fred Edward Duprey Sr and Step Mother Frieda, His mother Catherine Dedeaux Kennon, Brother Mike Duprey, Sister Joanne Dubuisson (Ray). Father in Law Sam Sterling, Sister in Law Debbie McKenzie, Brother in law Russell Douglas. Ed is survived by his wife of 37 yrs Theresa Boone Duprey to cherish his memories always. Three sons Scottie Duprey (Rhonda) of  Kiln, MS,  Zeke Boone of Waveland, MS, Cody Duprey of Waveland, MS. Two daughters Connie Gipson (Rick) of Kiln, MS, Jessica Duprey of Hattiesburg, MS.  He leaves behind 5 grandsons Bryce Duprey, Chase Duprey, Ashton Aime, Destin Aime (Meghan), and Daniel A Boone.  One great Grandson Bowen Duprey.  Three Brothers  Kenneth W Duprey (Aleta) of Long Beach, MS ,  Jerry M Duprey (Yoette) of Gautier, MS,  James E Duprey (Beth) of VA.  He is survived by his Mother in law Viola Sterling of Waveland, Ms. Two Brother in laws Joseph Douglas of Waveland, MS and Samuel Douglas (Tina) of Baton Rouge, LA.  Ed leaves behind many extended family members. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic and recent Hurricane Zeta damage a memorial services  is being planned by Ed’s niece Amber Rouse along with Zeke, Cody, and Jessica near Ed’s favorite place to fish as a young man and where he would often take his children in Gulfport, MS.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the Duprey family during this difficult time and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
