Eula Ree Ladner, 86 of the Necaise Crossing community, passed away at her home Monday morning, October 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 28, 1937 in Poplarville, one of eight children to William Ervin and Grace Marie (Burge) Ladner. Eula grew up in the Silver Run community, a South MS country girl that was accustomed to the country way of life. Farming, gardening, taking care of animals, and so much more defined her childhood. When there weren't any chores to be done, she enjoyed playing basketball, sewing, and cooking. She married Earl C. Ladner and they made their home in the Necaise Crossing community, establishing a dairy farm and raising their family there as well. Eula decided to go to Pearl River Community College where she received her cosmetology degree. She opened her own shop there by her house and ran it for many years. Eula became quite the accomplished cook over the years, managing to feed her family and many others. Her shrimp gumbo and sweet tater pies were among the best you ever tasted, but it certainly didn't stop there. There really wasn't much of anything she couldn't prepare. Her true hobby was cooking, but she also enjoyed fishing and visiting the casinos. She is lovingly remembered as a "spicy" lady who truly enjoyed her life and family. Eula loved nothing more than her family being together, with everybody around the table enjoying some of her cooking. A loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be forever loved and missed by all whose life she touched. Eula was preceded by her parents, Ervin and Grace Ladner, and her loving husband of almost 50 years, Earl C. Ladner. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Sky (Ernest) Smith, Jr. and Odessia Foubare, both of Necaise Crossing. She leaves a legacy of four grandchildren, nine great-grands, and a host of extended family, friends, neighbors, and countless customers through the years. Eula's specific desire was to have a simple, graveside service when her time came, and her family is honoring her wishes. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Ladner family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
