Elizabeth Keith Obituary

Elizabeth Beryle Keith, 73, passed away on May 31st, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. She was born on February 21, 1949 in Lumberton, the middle of three children to Wallace Marion and Inda Faye (Lott) Henderson. She grew up in the dessert Southwest states of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and beyond. Beryle came back to South MS in her teenage years, and attended Sumrall schools. She worked for Movie Star, spending some time in all three of their locations in her career. She was a floor lady over a line, and later over the shipping department. In her time there, she circulated a petition and helped make it possible for the ladies to wear pants on the job. On an eventful day in 1969, she and her mother had a flat tire on Hwy 11 near Bass Academy. Curtis Keith and his friends were headed back to PRC for school and stopped to help. Curtis talked with Beryle while his friends changed the tire, and the rest as they say, is history. They began a relationship and were married a couple years later, making their home Poplarville first. Over they years, they made their way to Purvis. Together they farmed for many years, raising cattle in the Lumberton area before he went into logging and Beryle took care of the home. She is remembered as a caring, loving woman with a huge, infectious laugh. She loved cooking, and perfected her skills over the years, cooking for her family, her church, and so many more. And she could cook literally anything. Her potato salad was so good, it was an entree itself, but it certainly didn't stop there. Beryle was an amazing wife and mother, and not only to her own children, but to her nephews as well. She will be forever missed by all whose life she touched. Beryle was preceded by her parents, Wallace and Faye Henderson, her brother Blake and her sister Kathy Henderson. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband of nearly fifty-two years, Curtis Keith; their children, daughters Casey Keith (Cameron Jellsion) of Hattiesburg and Amber (Josh) Moore of Petal, and one son Clint Keith of Purvis. She leaves a legacy of two grandchildren, Jessica and Chase Keith, both of Petal, her nephews Morgan (Patti) Henderson and T.J. (Amber) Henderson, both of Purvis, Cory (Wendy) Keith of Hattiesburg, along with numerous extended family, friends, and co-workers through the years. Funeral Services are set for Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Okahola Baptist Church, 3889 Old Hwy 11 in Purvis. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with Bros. Josh Spiers and David Graham officiating. Afterward, she will be laid to rest in the Clear Branch Cemetery in Purvis.
