Doris "Lynn" Silkwood, 80, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on the evening of May 12, 2022, at The Carpenter House in Gulfport, MS. Lynn, as everyone knew her, was born on July 12, 1941, in Gulfport, MS to parents Arthur and Fortunato (Cuccurullo) Tillman. In March of 1958, Lynn married the love of her life Alton Silkwood, whom she spent sixty-four years making memories with. Lynn and Alton would stay in Gulfport and raise their two children, Charlie and Rachelle. Lynn was a dispatcher by trade in the service industry for over twenty years before retiring. Together, Lynn and Alton did everything, from racing horses to being in a boat fishing as often as they could, Lynn loved spending time with her family. This included spending her nights at the dirt track to watch her son and son in law fight for first place or getting some shopping in with the girls! Lynn was a sweet soul who will be missed by all who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Fortunato (Cuccurullo) Tillman, one sister Liz Walters, and one brother Bill Irwin. Left to cherish the wonderful memories she left with them are, her husband of sixty-four years Charles Alton Silkwood of Gulfport, MS; her children Charles "Charlie" Wayne (Cindy) Silkwood of Gulfport, and Rachelle Lynn (Pete) Natale of TN; her grandchildren Dakota Silkwood, Sarah (Andrew) Groner, Jourdan Natale, Logan Natale, and Cameron Natale; and one great grandchild Wyatt Groner. Doris leaves a legacy of numerous extended family and friends who knew and loved her. The family will hold a memorial service for Mrs. Doris on May 24, 2022, at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry, MS beginning at 3:00 pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you would consider donating to The Alzheimer's Association in memory of Lynn Silkwood.
