Donald Swain, Jr. Obituary

Donald Rodney "Donny" Swain, Jr., 54 of the Henleyfield community, passed away at his home Saturday evening, Jan. 9th. He was born July 4, 1966 in Geneva, IL, the oldest of two children to Don R., Sr. and Barbara Ann (Micel) Swain. Don grew up in Naperville, IL where he enjoyed baseball and football. After high school, he joined the US Army and was sent to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, serving in the Military Police. Don was injured and medically discharged early in his military career, and following his release chose a career in construction as a heavy equipment operator for several years. He moved with his family to the Henleyfield community of Pearl River County and enjoyed the quiet, country life. Don loved hunting, fishing and riding his Harley with his dad and friends. He is remembered as a quiet, easy-going guy that loved his family and a die-hard Elvis fan. He also wrote songs, was accomplished on the guitar and often playing and sand for his parents. Don had a different, almost dry sense of humor that you had to know him to fully appreciate. He will be forever missed by his parents and all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his uncles: James and Bill Micel. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving parents, Don. R., Sr. and Barbara Swain of Henleyfield; his sister Tami (Sean) Burke of Scottsdale, AZ, with their children Cheyenne and Hunter, and his uncles John (Judi) Urban of Elgin, IL and Jeff Micel of West Chicago, IL, along with many extended family and friends over the years. Don's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring and will hold a private memorial service.
