Devern Taylor Obituary

Devern Sam Taylor, 52 of Long Beach, passed away November 1st, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. He was born September 08, 1971 in Gulfport, the youngest of two boys of Laverna Mae Taylor. Devern grew up in Pass Christian and had a love for sports. He played baseball and football, graduating from Pass High in the late 80's. Devern joined the US Army right out of high school, serving as a Combat Medic. Following his discharge, he worked for a while at South MS Regional Center before becoming a commercial driver. He is remembered as a loving father to his son, with a great sense of humor. Making others laugh was a talent that he used frequently through life. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Laverna Taylor. Left to cherish his memories are: his only son, Kyle Taylor of Rockport, TX, and his mother, Jennifer Holliman, also of Rockport; his brother Maurice Taylor of Chicago, along with his nephew, Gill Taylor and a host of extended family and friends. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. Interment arrangements are still in progress. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Taylor family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
