David Singletary Obituary

David Lavelle Singletary, 55, passed away in a tragic accident on May 27th, 2022 in Wiggins. He was born Sept. 13, 1966 in Gulfport, the baby of four children to Gerald Ray and Peggy (Jordan) Singletary. David grew up in Perkinston and loved to fish, hunt, and tinker with cars. He enjoyed his hot rods and working on them, eventually becoming a master mechanic. He attended Stone County Schools, and some automotive classes at Gulf Coast. David made his entire career as a mechanic, working in many shops around South MS, including Star Chevrolet, Smith's Automotive, McMullan Motors, Bayside Chrysler, and most recently, Express Lube in Wiggins. He had recently obtained a position with Stone County Schools Transportation Dept., and was set to start that May 31st. He is remembered as a loveable, crazy guy. He had a great sense of humor and was the type that was going to make you laugh if possible, and he was usually successful. He enjoyed older music, with the Bee Gees' "How Deep is Your Love" among his favorite songs. He would dance around the living room whenever any of his tunes were on. David liked his animals and playing games online. He was a very caring and loving guy that preferred to keep to himself, but if you were in his circle, you had a true friend that was there if you needed him. He will be forever missed by all whose life he touched. David was preceded by his parents, Gerald Ray and Peggy Singletary, and his sisters Mary Brewer and Shelia Hickman. Left to cherish his memories are: daughters Cat Singletary of Picayune, and Tricia Singletary, with sons Jeremiah (Sally) Singletary of Bendale, and David Singletary, Jr.; his brother Gerald Singletary of Wiggins; his fiance Shannon Sablich of Wiggins, and his four-pawed son, "Rusty". He leaves a legacy of three grandchildren, Troi, Gabriel, and Paige Ellis, all of Picayune, with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. David's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A celebration of his life is set for Saturday, June 18th at Shekaniah Glory Baptist Church, 407 E. Hatten Avenue in Wiggins, beginning at 4:00 PM. Everyone who knew and loved him are encouraged to attend. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Singletary family in their time of need, and asks that you remember them in your prayers in the days to come.
