Darryl Pierre Lewis

Darryl Pierre Lewis, 63, of Lumberton, MS departed this life and made his transition into eternity on October 20, 2023, at Merit Health Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.  Darryl was born in St. Louis, MO on April 16, 1960, to the Union of Charlie and Thelma (Brack) Lewis.  Darryl attended East St. Louis District 189 public schools where he would graduate from.  Darryl later attended some college before joining the United States Coast Guard, where he proudly served for over twenty years, before retiring.  Darryl loved being on the water, traveling around in his boat, nature, his family, and his animals.  Darryl always had an eye for beautiful scenery and would often post stunning photos on his social media, to share with those he loved.  Darryl will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, and friend who will be immensely missed by those who knew and loved him.  Preceding Darryl in death are his parents, Charlie and Thelma (Brack) Lewis, and one nephew, Kendrick Perkins.  Left to cherish Darryl's memory, his siblings Kevin Lewis, Charles Lewis, DeJuan Lewis, Kim Bruce, and Faith Weathers; nineteen nieces and nephews, twenty-eight great nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family and friends whom Darryl loved deeply, as he never met a stranger he couldn't befriend.  Darryl will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, IL at a later date provided by the family.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lewis family during this difficult time and would ask that you remember them all in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
