Dana Laquita (Breland) Gillis

Dana Laquita Breland Gillis, age 62, of Gulfport passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Dana was born in California on August 30, 1956 to Buford and Margie Breland. She held the title as oldest of three even if it wasn't but by 15 minutes. She made a home filled with love, laughter and great memories for everyone that knew her. Dana had a kind, gentle soul and saw the good in everyone. Even through her battle with lung cancer, she didn't let the disease steal her joy. She lived and loved life to its fullest, spoiling grandchildren all along the way. Dana will never be far from us with all the memories she left behind. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 25 years, Tim Gillis and brother, George Thomas Breland. She is survived by her parents, Buford and Margie Breland; her children, Gary (Keishonda) Peterman, Robert Lind and Anna Dunn; twin sister and caregiver, Dawn (John) Sanders; her precious grandchildren, Destiny, Savannah, Braylin, Kamdyn, Lilly Anna, Grayson and Keigan. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15 at Trinity Funeral Services from 12 to 2 pm with a chapel service at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery.
