Clifton Daniel Hickman, 34 of Gulfport, passed away Monday afternoon at Memorial Hospital. Born March 11, 1986 in Gulfport, he was the third of six children to Leo "Gumbo" and Vicky (Williams) Hickman. Daniel was a 'good 'ol boy' that everyone loved and considered family. An extremely charming, smart and talented person, Daniel was truly family oriented and they meant more to him than anything else in the world. He took pride in making sure that everyone he loved had what they needed. Making friends came easy for him because he never made or placed judgement on anyone. His favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting, and Daniel could teach you anything you wanted to know about either. He so enjoyed spending full days on the boat fishing, or in the woods hunting with his brothers. Just being outdoors spending time with his family made him ecstatic. Daniel was always cracking jokes and loved to make everyone laugh. He did his best to make you feel involved, never leaving anyone out. He lived for his neices, Taylor and Addison and was constantly looking after his mom Vicky and sister Ashley, always making sure they were well cared for. He and Ashley shared a special bond, leaning on each other in tough times. His dog Veta was truly his best friend, though she did drive him slap insane at times. Daniels leaves this 'ol world way too young and far too soon. He gave the gift of life by being a Hero Organ Donor, which only exemplifies his nature of always looking out for others. He will be so fondly remembered and very sadly missed by all whose life he touched. Daniel was preceded by his son, Caleb Hickman; his father Leo "Gumbo" Hickman; his Pawpaw and Granny, Leo C. and Janie E. Hickman; his uncle Mitchell Hickman, a nephew Joseph Hickman, and his best friend Justin Sanders. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving mother, Vicky Hickman, sisters Ashley Hickman (Nick Hinton) and Jessica Myers (Justin Ladner), and brother Justin (Angel) Hickman, all of Gulfport, sister Darinda (Jamie) Parker of Perk, and his brother Austin (Marissa) Hickman of Saucier; two neices, whom he treated as his own, Taylor Horner and Addie Shelby; his girlfriend Megan Page, and bonus grandparents Troy & Donna Byrd and Jim & Susie Franklin, along with countless extended family and friends all over South MS. To honor his wishes and memory, the family has set a graveside service for 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, September 19th, in the Rouse Cemetery in Saucier. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Hickman family in their time of need. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time, as well as the days ahead.
