Christopher Lane Byrd, 24 of Lumberton passed away far too soon on July 8, 2021. He was born October 7, 1996, in Hattiesburg, MS. He is preceded in death by his great grandfather, Herman Gipson; grandparents, Tommy and Eldora Byrd and his aunt, Tammy Byrd. Lane leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Cindy Gipson; father, David (Cynthia) Byrd; his sisters, Laci (Kyler) Gates, Shelby Gipson and Dakota Eckert; great grandma, Jesse Audrey Gipson; grandfather, Charles Gipson; grandmother, Sherry Gipson; aunt and uncle, Susan and Lonnie Jones; several close cousins; nephew, Karter; niece, Paisleigh and another precious baby on their way in September; numerous extended family and friends. Lane was the only boy out of four kids and was spoiled beyond measure and was a big mama’s boy! He was the sort of person that had a quiet personality and was extremely loving to all around him. He had a way about him that made those that knew him feel safe. Lane enjoyed fishing and hunting. He wasn’t the idle type; Lane was always doing something. While the family mourns the passing of Lane, they take comfort in knowing that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 11 at Greenville Baptist Church Cemetery at 10 am with a “Come and Go Memorial” following until 2 pm at Christian Cowboy Church, 785 Caney Church Rd., Lumberton. The same church he and his sister, Shelby was baptized at in 2019. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to be entrusted with the care of Lane and asks that you keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time.
