Charles Gastineau Obituary

Charles David Gastineau, 43 of Kiln, passed away on September 11, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. He was born on July 22, 1979 in Talihina, OK, the son of Michael Lynn and Sandra Marie (Chapman) Gastineau. Charles grew up Ravia, OK and spent lots of time fishing and hunting along the way. C.D. as he came to be known, was of Chickasaw and Cherokee descent, and spent time with the dance troop growing up. They travelled around the area, performing at high schools and other venues. Raised on a small family farm, he was around livestock and horses quite a bit, did some roping, and even rode a few bulls along the way. C.D. attended Tishomingo High School, graduating with the Class of 1998 and from there, went on to vocational school in Tulsa. He spent his career welding and doing construction work. He was definitely his own man and was well known as the type to stand his ground. C.D. definitely went his way, blazing trails using his own compass and for that, some may have took him the wrong way. But if you truly knew him, you knew a very loving, caring guy to those closest to him, and a trusted, loyal friend. C.D. loved fishing and crabbing, and would usually have a cold one in his hand. He got to travel all over with his work, but also enjoyed casual travel as well. A hard working provider that enjoyed a good laugh, C.D. enjoyed bowling, relaxing while listening to music, and was even known to sing along as well. He will definitely be missed by those who knew and loved him. C.D. was preceded by his parents, Michael and Sandra Gastineau, and his son, Claude. Left to cherish his memories are: his children: Camden and Summerain Gastineau; his loving fiancé, Bridgett Malley; and brothers Greg Gastineau, B Gastineau, Keith Gastineau, Charles Gastineau, Bobby Gastineau, Jeffery Gastineau, and Stephen Schotsman, along with many extended family and friends. Visitation is set for Sunday evening, September 18, 2022 beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service Monday morning, at The Kiln Storm Shelter. Afterward, D.C. will be laid to rest in the Alfonse-Malley Cemetery.
