Brenda Ann Yawn, 72, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, in Alexandria, LA. Born on March 23, 1951, in Hattiesburg, MS, to the late Lonnie Reid and Jimmie Lewis. Brenda’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of laughter. Her humor, sassiness, and outspoken nature meant you always knew where you stood with her. An open book, Brenda never hesitated to share her thoughts and feelings, creating an atmosphere of honesty and warmth wherever she went. Family meant the entire world to her. She was the glue that held her loved ones together, hosting holiday gatherings with open arms and a table full of home-cooked meals. She enjoyed canning foods and sharing with her family. Her marriage of 53 years was nothing short of inspirational. Together, they built a life filled with joy and respect that served as a beautiful example to all. As a dedicated nurse, she cared for countless individuals with such compassion that she will forever leave a legacy of care and empathy for everyone to remember. She was an avid quilter, designing beautiful quilts to keep for ages to come. And when she had a chance to get away, she found herself in the Great Smokey Mountains enjoying the beautiful views. Above all, Brenda cherished her great-grandbabies, every moment with them brought her so much joy. She will be missed dearly.
