Bobby Joe Livesay, 71, passed away August 07, 2023 at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was born January 16, 1952 in Louisville, KY, one of eight children and the son of James and Catherine Logston. Bobby grew up on a farm in the Louisville area where he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and much more. He became skilled with his hands early on and was a pretty good carpenter, so he made a career in the construction field. Bobby was lively character that enjoyed laughing. He loved nothing better than to pull a good prank on you so you always had to be on your toes around him. Bobby loved his family and children more than anything else, and was always playing with them...on the floor, in the yard, it didn't matter. He continued to hunt, fish, and work in his woodshop where he made all sorts of things, including holiday decorations, birdhouses, and other things. If you ever encountered him, he probably said something you might not have understood, followed up with "it's particularly nice weather we're having", just to clarify. For all that he was, Bobby will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He was preceded by his mother Catherine Logston, his adoptive father James Logston, and one daughter, Shelley Cox, along with his loving wife of over 30 years, Diana. Left to cherish his memories are: his children, one son Jason (Jessica) Livesay and a daughter Sherri (Wayne) Reis, both of Slidell. Bobby leaves a legacy of five grandchildren: Amy Dossman, Mark (Elaina) Thrasher, Huey Cox, III, Louis Cox, and Amanda Cox, with eight great-grands: Shelby, Breanna, Haleigh, Kaydence, Grayson, Owen, Corrin, and Delilah, and numerous extended family and many friends. Bobby's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. In lieu of any floral arrangements, please consider making a donation to help the family offset final expenses, which can be done by clicking the donations button at the top. No donation is too small, and all will be greatly appreciated. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Livesay family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
